Sacramento, Ca. – The California Association For Nurse Practitioners today formally recognized Senator Jeff Stone (R-Riverside) as the 2017 CANP Advocate of the Year at their Annual Lobby Day event at the Sheraton Grand Sacramento Hotel.

“You have been a constant champion of the Nurse Practitioners over the years and we are grateful for your friendship and support of our profession,” wrote Theresa Ullrich, President of CANP.

Senator Stone is just the 7th legislator to receive the CANP award since the organization was established more 40 years ago.

Nurse Practitioners play an important role in the healthcare delivery system and provide a variety of care in settings including hospitals, community clinics and private practice settings.

“The hard work and dedication of Nurse Practitioners is especially important in medically underserved and vulnerable communities like some of those in the Coachella Valley,” said Senator Stone. “It is an honor to work to help Nurse Practitioners better serve the people of California.”
