Sacramento, Ca. -- Senator Jeff Stone (R-Riverside County) recently introduced Senate Resolution 99 recognizing the week of April 8-14 as California Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.
The resolution honors all of the emergency dispatchers who answer 911 calls and serve the people of California 24 hours a day, seven days a week, each day of the year
“These men and women are truly unsung heroes,” said Senator Stone. “Not only do they direct police and fire personnel during emergencies, they often stay on the line during times of danger and crisis offering callers comfort, direction and hope.”
In the United States, an estimated 240 million 911 calls are made each year, all of them answered by these highly trained and amazing individuals.
Senate Resolution 99 encourages all Californians to join the Senate in celebrating and thanking those Public Safety Telecommunicators who have dedicated their lives to serving the public.
