SB 149 will allow terminally ill patients the opportunity to try investigative drugs which have been safety tested by the FDA but not yet approved. The bill will give some hope to those who have been told there is no hope. SB 149 passed the Senate on a 35-0 vote.

On Monday SB 417 passed the Senate by a 37-0 vote. The bill would allow California counties larger than 2,500 square miles to transport ballots cast during the day to election centers prior to the close of voting. Those results will not be released until after all the polls have closed.

On Monday Senator Stone was interviewed by Timothy Sandefur on KFMB 760 AM in San Diego about SB 149 which will allow terminally ill patients to try experimental drugs that have received Phase 1 approval by the FDA but remain tied up in the government’s swollen bureaucratic process.
